How it works

Five things, that's all.

No small print: all of this is written in public contracts on Celo.

  1. Leave dollars, get pesos

Leave USDT as a guarantee and receive Ripio digital pesos (wARS) in the same minute, up to 60% of what you leave. We suggest 50%.

  2. Pay a fair rate

The yearly rate follows pool use: 22% when idle, 36% at 80% lent, plus a 0.25% opening fee. The bank charges 64.6% today (BCRA, 2 nov 2026).

  3. The agent looks after it

If you want, sign a rule once and the agent adds your dollars or repays with your pesos when the loan reaches risk, never beyond your limits. The contract enforces the limits, not us.

  4. Repay and get it back

When you repay in full, your dollars come back in the same transaction. Each loan repaid on time lowers your rate and raises your limit next time.

  5. If the dollar falls a lot

If your loan passes 80% of what you left, only the part of the guarantee needed to get back to 78% is sold, plus 5%. The rest stays yours.

Risks, one line each
Risk: if the dollar falls a lot, part of your guarantee is sold. It is never sold for paying late; paying late adds 5 points to the rate.
Risk: if a loan isn't covered by its guarantee, the reserve pays first, then the pool. You can withdraw whenever there are free pesos.
Ripio can pause the digital pesos; if it does, your dollars stay yours and the contract has an exit to get them back.
The price comes from the Uniswap wARS/USDT pool on Celo (30-minute average); the agent compares it with Binance and dolarapi and pauses new loans if they disagree.
